If someone named you their steward, this page is for you: what it means, and how to be ready without doing anything at all.

The day has come?

Here is exactly what to do.

1. If you still have your steward link (a text or email from the person, or from us): open it. It works on any phone, no account needed, and it will walk you through everything.
2. If you lost the link, or it has been years: use the form at the bottom of this page. Tell us who you are and how to reach you, and we will get your steward page back to you.
3. If it is urgent and nothing above works: write to us at hello@emberkeep.io with the person's name and yours. A person reads it, verifies carefully, and helps you complete your duty. Nothing is ever lost because a link was.

What a steward is

Someone on Emberkeep trusts you to act when they're gone. When the day truly comes, you and their other stewards confirm it together, never alone, so the words they kept can reach the people they love.

Nothing is asked of you today

Being a steward costs nothing and requires nothing until that day. The kindest thing you can do now is make sure we know how to reach you, below. Or easier still, create a free account so your role is always connected to you.

If the day comes

You'll come to this page (or your private link, or your account), and you'll see exactly what to do: confirm the passing, or pause everything, if it isn't right. Every step is written for a hard day, with no confusion and no rush.

That's okay. Tell us who you are and how to reach you. If we find stewardships matching your phone number, we'll send your private steward page to the email on file, or ask the person who named you to approve a new one. And if a passing is ever reported, this same page is where you come to confirm or dispute it.
